USER GROUP 2007: HOT IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE...

Monday Evening Cocktail Reception

On the heels of our latest major software release, Élan™ 7.0 and introducing a number of new modules, industry partnerships and session formats - there was no lack of news and information to share at this year's User Group Conference.

This year we saw our total concurrent tracks increase to 8 - covering everything from electronic publishing to internet advertising. New strategic industry discussions, guest speakers and specialist panels were a popular addition to most tracks - covering topics from Digital Content Distribution to Online Customer Self-Service.

We were happy to have a number of Cat's Pajamas customers join us this year in the Book Track - adding to the dynamic sessions with other CISPUB and BookWorks customers. Discussions spanned many different topics including new development, integration with the Élan Framework, SQL Server and .NET, Integrated WMS and EDI. The Supply Chain panel and Strategic Industry topics were popular additions this year.

Down the hall in the Circ Track, attendees enjoyed a good mix of sessions offering advice on streamlining processes, making better use of the Circ system and reviewing new additions in the latest 7.0 release. Tom Jensen, Founder of Veridean, an internet technologies partner, along with attendees from Babcox Publishing and ST Media Group discussed the impact of technology in the circulation business and offered feedback and advice to attendees on how to capitalize on new opportunities.

The Ad and CRM Tracks were abuzz with news of the release of the new Internet Ad Manager and the .NET version of Sales Prospector: Élan CRM. There was also a palpable excitement about the new Order-to-Print solution which provides integrated online ad submissions, error checking, ad trafficking, production workflow, billing, flat planning and page imposition.

Attendance was high in the Accounting and Technical Tracks, reviewing new and old topics on business and technology administration. Updates to the Directory and Event modules along with the new Membership module were also presented to interested customers.

In summary, the accommodations were plush the topics timely and temperature was hot!

" This was definitely the best conference I've had the opportunity to actually attend. I found it very informative and well organized. Because it was a user conference, there was more relevant information specifically addressing areas of interest from a fulfillment perspective. I hope I have an opportunity to attend next year.

" ... thanks for a great User Group this year! I really enjoyed the sessions this year. They were very informative and gave me some hands on information that I can use to tweak our system to get things tightened up.

When I think of a User Group, I think of telling me what's new but also telling me how to make what I've got better and you pulled that off with flying colors.

So thanks again! See you in Vegas!
