PUBLISHER PLANS "AMAZON-LIKE" WEBSITE INTEGRATION

Ignatius Press

Ignatius Press is moving forward with plans that will see their website fully integrated with their Élan business system, which will include the Book and Circ modules. Veridean Technology Solutions will be providing both pre-built components and custom programming services to complete the project. Details of the agreement between the two companies provide for a phased implementation over the next six to twelve months, to create an "Amazon-like" web experience for their customers.

"The new website will be connected to Élan from the moment a visitor hits the home page," explains Tom Jensen, Co-Founder of Veridean. "Product information will be pulled from the Élan product database, reflecting the latest product and stock information. Of course, this information will all ultimately make it to the shopping cart and through the checkout process, another key point of integration, and a central part of our 'Web Catalog/Search' module."

In addition, a customer self-service area on the website will allow customers to register, update shipping and billing information, view historical orders, outstanding balances and otherwise manage their account information.

Once these initial points of integration are completed, Ignatius Press will implement Veridean’s DAM (Digital Assets Management) system, allowing the company to offer digital products directly online. The DAM module will also be used to authenticate current subscribers and offer appropriate discounts on book and other product based on subscription levels.

Ignatius is the primary English-language publisher of the works of Pope Benedict XVI and a leading publisher of books, magazines, journals, newsletters and films supporting the worldwide Catholic community.
