Business has its challenges. Your software doesn't have to be one of them.
Stamford, CT - January 24, 2007 - The Media Services Group, a leading provider of integrated publishing and event management software, has acquired The Cat's Pajamas, developer of the well known Cat's Pajamas book publishing system. Terms of the acquisition, which closed on January 24, 2007, provide for the maintenance of The Cat's Pajamas offices and staff in Burlington, WA as a division of The Media Services Group.
The Media Services Group currently owns, sells and supports two other book publishing software applications, BookWorks and CISPUB. With the addition of The Cat's Pajamas, MSGL effectively offers solutions to book publishers of all sizes and disciplines.
"We couldn't be happier with the arrangement," explained Wayne Olson, founder of The Cat's Pajamas. "With The Media Services Group, we have found a wonderful path forward for our customers, our staff and our software."
In addition to uninterrupted support of the current Cat's Pajamas software and customer base, the new office in Burlington, WA will also participate in the continued development of The Media Services Group's next generation book publishing platform, ÉLAN BOOK™. Work is already underway integrating The Cat's Pajamas system into the unified SQL database architecture, which will allow Cat's customers to operate on Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Express or Oracle. Release is scheduled for later this year.
"To be number one in this market you need to have great software, great customers, great support and great people," commented Jeff Shine, President and CEO of The Media Services Group. "The Cats acquisition helps us in achieving all of these goals."
With a combined customer base of nearly 400 publishers and with offices across North America, Canada and the U.K., The Media Services Group services more media businesses than any other publishing software company in its market.
